1st Day:
Arrival in Puerto Ayacucho at 11:00 am. Transfer by jeep to Puerto
de Samariapo (1hour). Start navigating through the Orinoco River.
We will the Orinoco and begin navigating through Sipapo River. Stopover
at a beautiful place to take a refreshing bath and have lunch. Navigation
to the mouth of Autana River. Visit to the Piaroa native tribe where
we will spend the night. Overnight stay in a hammock. (-L/D).
2nd Day:
08:30 Walk through the jungle not without first visiting a native
tribe and learning about the processing of yucca and the making
of cassava. Navigation through the Autana River. Take a bath at
a spectacular white sand beach. Have lunch. Continue navigating
to Ceguera’s torrent, which is the nearest point we can get
to Autana Tepuy. Visit to the native tribe. Overnight stay in a
hammock. (B/L/D)
3rd Day:
06:00 am Breakfast. Transfer by boat. Start walking through
the jungle in order to get to Cerro Wahari’s scenery viewpoint
(2.5 hours approximately to reach the peak). This will be a deep
walk into the jungle where we will be able to enjoy its wonders
and learn about its characteristics. Once we are back, we will be
able to take a refreshing bath at Ceguera’s torrent and a
well-earned rest. In the afternoon, we will start navigating back
to Piedra Tonina’s camp. Overnight stay in a hammock (B/L/D)
4th day
08:30am Breakfast. Walk through the jungle to visit a cave
where there are cave paintings. Head back to camp to have lunch.
Navigation through Sipapo River. Stopover at a beach located in
Caldero’s torrent to enjoy a refreshing bath. Navigation through
the Orinoco River up to Puerto de Samariapo. Transfer by jeep to
Puerto Ayacucho. Overnight stay at a city hotel (Double sized bedroom
and private bathroom) B/L/D
5th Day:
08:00am Leave the hotel and see the Native’s handcrafts
market. Transfer to the Airport. Board your flight at 11:00 am.
End of our services. Breakfast not included; however, you may want
to have lunch at the market or the airport.

DETAILS ABOUT THE EXCURSION
Boat and equipment:
The boat used for this excursion is a 14 meter (45, 93 feet) long
wooden boat equipped with a roof made with the leaves of palm trees
which is typical among the natives tribes of the area and it is
powered by a 40 HP outboard motor. Overnight staying takes place
in hammocks with mosquito nets placed in the camp. There are gas
and solar lamps for night lightning.
We are equipped with coolers and enough ice for all trip, as well
as bottled mineral water and cooking gear.
In addition, there will be first aid kits, safety equipment for
the boat and radio communication with the main office in Puerto
Ayacucho and every emergency station in the area.
Our guides will make food at the moment. It is varied and plentiful.
Breakfast and dinner will be served at our camping sites. Lunch
is the lightest meal and will take place as we travel or in the
boat. In some of the places we will be visiting there are available
latrines, in other areas will be informed about proper ways to avoid
damage to the habitat.
These are adventure excursions; however, we strive to fulfill our
passenger’s needs in order for them to enjoy the trip.
DETAILS ABOUT THE TRIP
We will be navigating through the Orinoco River starting
from Puerto de Samariapo just before the torrents up the river until
we get to one its most interesting tributaries, which is Sipapo
River. In addition, there will be visits to the some of the native
communities along the riverbank. There are native tribes that do
not like being visited so in some cases we will have to observe
them from the boat.
Navigating will not take more than two hours with visits and stopovers
in between to enjoy the landscape and the rivers.
The area we will be visiting is avoided by the Piaroa native tribe.
Visits to native tribes will be directed by our guides during which
we will be able to observe and learn about their daily life, as
well as mythology and customs. Our guides will let you know how
to behave in order not to disturb them and negotiate with their
chiefs the possibility of taking pictures.
Along the way, our guides will give you general information about
the sceneries we will be visiting as well as their characteristics.
This is a jungle adventure excursion so you must listen carefully
to all our guides’ recommendations to minimize the risks of
accidents and the damage to the surrounding habitats.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
- We will be navigating for around 250 km (155, 34
miles) through Orinoco, Sopapo, Cuao and Autana rivers.
- We will be able to identify Sipapo River´s
basin natural reserve.
- We will be visiting the Piaroa’s native tribe
territory, which is the most numerous and deeply rooted to its
culture in all the Venezuelan Amazon.
- We will be able to see over 600 registered species
of birds, some of them endemic to the area.
- In addition, we will be able to experience and
learn about the characteristics the rainforest.
