ANGEL FALLS
Flying from Ciudad Bolívar you will enjoy a flight over Angel
Falls. After the arrival at Kavak’s Pemon native community,
our fluvial journey begins, as we will sleep in spectacular camps
on the banks of the river that leads to Angel Falls.
It includes: - Air transfer Ciudad Bolívar
– Kavac and Canaima – Ciudad Bolívar –
Every meal – Lodging at native housings, in hammocks –
Guide – Motorist – Cook – All the required camp
equipment – Every transfer by motor dugout canoe – Tax
(IVA).
IIt does not include: Alcoholic beverages – Activities that
are not specified in the itinerary.
Day 1
Departure from Ciudad Bolívar at 8 a.m. in a charter flight
to Kavac with an over flight of Angel Falls guided by the native
community. Excursion to the Kavac caves. Overnight stay in hammocks,
at native housings. (L/D)
Day 2
After breakfast we’ll take a jeep in order to cross the savanna
up to Kamarata. We’ll start the fluvial part of the excursion
leaving from Kamarata in motor dugout canoes through the Arkansan
River. This section borders Auyán Tepuy´s southeast
wall, besides going through various torrents. Overnight stay at
Iwana-merú in native housings. (B/L/D)
Day 3
Walk through savanna in order to see Amaruay tepuy. Navigation on
the Carrao River up to the mouth of the Churún River. This
is an excellent opportunity to take pictures of Auyan tepuy from
different angles while the dugout meanders on the Akanan River.
Camping at Arenal. Hammocks. (B/L/D)
Day 4
We will navigate on the Churún River through ‘el Cañón
del diablo’ [the Devil’s cannon]. This exciting path
will make you go around diverse torrents and immense stones. When
getting to Ratón Island the walk to Angel Falls´ viewpoint
begins. It is an hour walk through the jungle. Another 20 minutes
will take you to the base camp where you will enjoy a revitalizing
bath. Back to Arenal camp. (B/L/D)
Day 5
We will navigate the Carrao River up to Canaima. During the road
we will make a stop at ‘el pozo de la felicidad’ [the
Deep Pool of Happiness] and then we will walk to go past the dangerous
torrents of Mayupa. We will pay a visit to ‘el salto del sapo’.
Arrival at Canaima to take a flight to Ciudad Bolívar. (B/L)
Note: The total weight of luggage must not go over 10 kg (22, 05
pounds).
