To be exposed to native indian communities will remind
you the original purpose of human societies and the curiara (typical
indian boat) trip through the Caura nature reserve will overaw you.
The trip sets off from the town of Trincheras, on the banks of Caura
river. We will sail on curiara that will take us upstream through
areas inhabited by the yekuana etnia, till getting to El Playón,
where, after a two hours of soft walk, we will arrive to Para waterfall,
an amazing waterfall that divides the river into upper Caura and
low Caura.

– It includes: Transportation (road) Ciudad
Bolívar-Trincheras-Ciudad Bolívar. All meals (B: breakfast,
L: lunch, S: supper). Sleeping in chinchorros (kind of native hammock)
in a churuata (natives typical house). Tourist guide. Driver speedboat,
Cook. All the equipment camping necesary. River transportation in
motor curiara. IVA tax
– It does not include alcoholic beverages
and other activities, not described in the itinerary.
Itinerary:
Day 1
9 am. Departure from Ciudad Bolívar. This four hours trip
by car will take us to cross the Orinoco savannah and then the rainforest
till the small fishing town of Trincheras, on the banks of Caura
river. After lunch we will sail the Caura river until getting to
Kue Kue campsite in Dufrumi island. Acommodation in hammocks with
mosquito nets. (L/S)
Day 2
Before dawn it is posible to listen to the araguatos monkeys and
then to observe the guacamayas flying over the river. After breakfast
we will continue upstream to the Yekuana native community in Nichare
river mouth. There we will be able to visit different families and
observe how they we have their baskets and carve wood. This is a
great opportunity to buy some craft. After lunch we will continue
to El Playón, an amazing white sand beach located in the
Para waterfall base. The campsite is perfect to swim and have some
rest. At night, the plan is to have a walk to see some native fauna.

Day 3
On day 3 the plan is to have a three hours soft walk through the
rainforest till getting to Kuyui sori, also named Para waterfall.
The walk, under the big trees shade, is an excellent opportunity
to observe climbing plants, as orchidea and brommelia. Once in the
waterfall, we will have lunch and go back to El Playón. The
way, through big granite blocks, has infinite forest and river views.

Day 4
The sailing begins downstream visiting some native indian communities
and enjoying the swim and eating stops till arrive to Kue Kue campsite
in Dufrumi island. That night we will enjoy a farewell dinner on
the banks of the Caura river. (B/L/S).
Day 5
After a delicious breakfast we will say goodbye to Caura river and
get ready to go back to Ciudad Bolívar. End of services.

Even though we give the best of all of us in order to comply with
the described itinerary, the programme could be subject to changes
owing to reasons that scape our control as flight delays, weather,
physical group conditions, river and road conditions.
